چکیده
This study was aimed to determine the prevalence of ESBLs in E. coli and their relation plasmid profiling patterns a sample patients Iraqi hospitals. The total number isolates 91 (49%) were collected out 185 clinical samples. antibiotic sensitivity test for showed high resistance percentage Nitrofurantion 95.7%, amoxicillin Ceftriaxone each which 91.3% Ceftazidime 90.2%, while highest observed against Imipenem 100%, Meropenem 99% then Amikacin 93.5%. Multi drug resistant (MDR) 53(58.2) % producers 45 (49.5) %. Plasmid profile analysis nineteen different obtained based on molecular weight plasmids content. Most β-lactamase had multiple plasmids, where’s single predominant non-β-lactamase-producing isolates. presence common among increases distribution community. In conclusion, producing bacteria can transferred between species by leading cross give limited options treatment.

Prevalence of Extended-spectrum β-Lactamases-producing Escherichia coli from Hospitals in Khartoum State, Sudan.
OBJECTIVE This study aimed to determine the prevalence and assess antimicrobial susceptibility of extended- spectrum β-lactamase-producing Escherichia coli isolated from clinical specimens of patients at hospitals in Khartoum State, Sudan. METHODS During April to August 2011, a total of 232 E. coli isolates were collected from various clinical specimens of patients. Isolates were identified, ...
متن کاملdetection of extended-spectrum β-lactamases (esbls) in escherichia coli
background escherichia coli (e. coli) species are able to produce extended-spectrum β-lactamases (esbls) that cause high resistance to the beta-lactam antibiotics. therefore, determining the antibiotic susceptibility patterns in resistant organisms is necessary for suitable therapeutic approaches. patients and methods totally, 260 clinical isolates of e. coli were collected from hospitals in te...
متن کاملPhylogenetic typing and detection of extended-spectrum β-lactamases in Escherichia coli isolates from broiler chickens in Ahvaz, Iran
This study was conducted to reveal the phylogenetic background, to detect the genes encoding TEM, SHV and CTX-M-15 extended-spectrum β-lactamases (ESBL), and to analyze their distribution in phylo-groups of 150 Escherichia coli isolates from broiler chickens in Ahvaz (Southwest of Iran). Seventy- five cloacal swabs from healthy birds (fecal isolates), and 75 heart blood samples from bi...
متن کاملEmergence of Escherichia coli producing extended-spectrum AmpC β-lactamases (ESAC) in animals
In both humans and animals, the spread of Extended-Spectrum β-Lactamases (ESBL)/AmpC producers has become a major issue, particularly due to the plasmidic dissemination of most of these genes. Besides, over-expression of the chromosomal ampC gene was largely reported in human and animal Enterobacteriaceae and, more recently, modifications within the coding region of the ampC gene [encoding Exte...
متن کاملPathogenic Escherichia coli producing Extended-Spectrum β-Lactamases isolated from surface water and wastewater
To assess public health risks from environmental exposure to Extended-Spectrum β-Lactamases (ESBL)-producing bacteria, it is necessary to have insight in the proportion of relative harmless commensal variants and potentially pathogenic ones (which may directly cause disease). In the current study, 170 ESBL-producing E. coli from Dutch wastewater (n = 82) and surface water (n = 88) were characte...
